Griot Gifts' donates 15% of the sale price of products on this web site to help fund a project in Nouna, Burkina Faso to help orphaned and abandoned children.

Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world. The average life expectancy is 46 years old. Many children are orphaned or abandoned when their families cannot care for them. In places like Nouna, where there are no orphanages, generous individuals like Bernadette take these children into their homes and care for them and feed them.

The project is on a small, personal basis. When project coordinator Adriana Malenotti traveled to Nouna, Burkina as part of her work with the Italy-based non-profit organization Movimento Shalom, she was introduced to Madame Bernadette by Griot Gifts weaver, Lassina.

All donated funds will be brought directly to Burkina to buy needed supplies and food. If you make a contribution, we will keep you updated with news and photos.
